This kit is intended for the rebuild of your F7R engine block – Clio Williams – Megane – Spider

It includes: A super-complete gasket set, that is to say all the top and bottom end engine gaskets
A specific complete piston ring set, notably with a 3-piece oil scraper ring (see description below)
A set of trimetal bearings to SAE794 standard (trimetal standard like the original, because the 2.0 bearings are indeed trimetal)
For the question of the locating tabs see below
A set of cylinder head bolts – original classification

The piston ring set is one of our own products, made by an OEM supplier; the 3-piece oil scraper ring absorbs cylinder distortions better (ovalisation in particular), which is often why it is called U-Flex, whereas the rigid original ring cannot properly follow the shape of the cylinder.

As for the locating tabs, urban legend has it that a bearing without a tab spins; we invite you to read our article on this subject (at the bottom of the article).
The tab is in fact a radial positioning marker for the bearing; what holds the bearing is the conformity of the conrod big-end.
Loose conrod bolts or an oval or out-of-spec big-end housing (+2/100) = a bearing that spins.

The cylinder head torque and angle settings are done with original bolts, which must be tightened into the so-called 'plastic' zone – permanent deformation of the bolt, hence the pre-torque and the angular tightening. Fitting industrial bolts (12.9 or others) means tightening these bolts in the elastic zone, which does not meet the block's requirements and is not recommended. There is no advantage in using bolts other than the original ones; even in Turbo engine applications the bolts are perfectly usable up to very high pressures.
