Reproduction des supports de train arrière pour R5 Alpine et R5 Alpine Turbo
We reproduced these rear axle silentblocs for the R5 Alpine and R5 Alpine Turbo back in 2008, following a general unavailability of original parts.
The original rear axle brackets for the R5 Alpine Turbo carry the following part numbers: 6001000183 and 6001000182 (type R122B).
The silentblocs located in the black metal section of the brackets must absolutely be slotted : This allows for slight, controlled flexing of the assembly. Since elastomer is virtually incompressible, it’s essential to provide it with a degree of mechanical freedom — otherwise, stresses won’t dissipate and will eventually lead to failure elsewhere in the suspension.
The elastomer hardness which we use complies with the original equipment specifications. A setup that is too stiff (such as 80 or 90 Shore) would cause a premature failure of the silentblocs.
The two separate metal rings are not slotted, as on the original part, and were not detailed separately by the manufacturer.
