Renault 5 Turbo camshaft bushings
Set of 4 pieces including:
2 outer bushings with an outside diameter of 41.6 mm before fitting interference
2 inner bushings with an outside diameter of 41 mm before fitting interference

The bushings are already supplied with the required oil holes, avoiding a long and tedious drilling operation.
These bushings are machined to their final dimensions and do not require line boring.

The outside diameter of the bushings before fitting load is 41.60 mm and 41.00 mm.
The internal diameter obtained once installed under load is 38.00 mm.
The recommended fitting interference is 0.1 mm, but this operation must absolutely be carried out by a professional engine machinist.
The machinist must check:
- the operating clearance,
- the alignment of the camshaft in the engine block.
We have chosen to supply finished bushings, because the original new bushings we used as a reference were also already fully machined.
Although the Repair Manual states that reboring is required, this seems to refer more to a precise clearance adjustment to the hundredth of a millimetre rather than a true structural boring operation of the bushings.
Please note: some Renault 5 Turbo camshaft bushing sets are sold as semi-finished. However, after grinding, the surface finish is often poor. These bushings are in fact rolled connecting rod bearing shells, which makes them very difficult to machine cleanly.

Before any reassembly, it is essential to check the condition of the camshaft bushings.
Cléon engines are known for oil pressure drops at the camshaft bearing journals.
Take the time to inspect these components: this is a common cause of premature wear, and a simple check can prevent costly damage.
