Clio 16s rebuild kit

This kit is intended for rebuilding your F7P engine block – Clio 16s or R19 16s

It includes: A super-complete gasket set, i.e. all the top-end and bottom-end gaskets
A complete piston ring set, notably with a 3-piece oil scraper (see description below)
A set of bimetal bearings to SAE783 standard (the original standard) – For the question of locating tabs, see below
A set of head bolts – original classification

The ring set is one of our own products, made by an OEM supplier; the 3-piece oil scraper better absorbs cylinder distortion (notably ovality), which is often why it is called U-Flex, whereas the rigid original ring cannot properly follow the cylinder shape.

As for the locating tabs, urban legend has it that a bearing without a tab spins; we invite you to read our article on the subject (bottom of the article).
The tab is actually a radial positioning marker for the bearing; what holds the bearing is the accuracy of the connecting rod big end.
Slack rod bolts or an oval or out-of-spec big-end housing (+2/100) = a spinning bearing.

The cylinder head torque and angle figures are achieved with original bolts, which must be tightened into the so-called "plastic" zone — permanent deformation of the bolt, hence the pre-torque and the angular tightening. Using industrial bolts (12.9 or others) means tightening them in the elastic zone, which does not match the block requirements and is not recommended. There is no advantage in using bolts other than original; even for turbo engine use the bolts are perfectly usable up to very high pressures.
