R5 GT Turbo gasket set – Renault Super 5 GT Turbo
This complete gasket set includes all the top-end and bottom-end engine gaskets required for rebuilding the 1,397 cc Cléon engine fitted to the Renault Super 5 GT Turbo.
Specially developed for C1J-782 and C1J-788 engines, this Glaser / Reinz gasket set ensures optimal engine sealing in accordance with the original Renault specifications.

We recommend carrying out complete and precise metrology checks. Many issues occur on this engine when this procedure is not properly followed. You can find everything in the Cléon engine workshop manual.
No checks carried out: common risks
- Camshaft bearings/bores not checked → reduced oil pressure.
- Cylinder liner protrusion not correctly set → external leakage at the cylinder head gasket.
Record your measurements using our metrology sheet.
To be strictly avoided
- Fitting a steel camshaft: prefer a cast iron camshaft or a reground original camshaft.
- Oil pump repair kits: ineffective in practice.
Engine tuning
It is essential to use:
- A certified GS700 cast iron liner.
- A reinforced fire-ring cylinder head gasket (depending on boost pressure and turbo type).
